Application Security Testing
Your applications are your largest attack surface.
Web apps, APIs, mobile applications, and the code behind them contain the vulnerabilities attackers exploit most. AMATAS application security testing uncovers weaknesses across your entire software stack – before your users pay the price.
- CREST-accredited
- ISO 27001 certified
- DORA & NIS2 aligned
- Remediation testing included
Services
Application security testing services
Choose the testing type that matches your environment and compliance needs, or combine multiple services for full-stack coverage.
Web & API penetration testing
Manual security testing of your web applications and APIs against OWASP Top 10 and OWASP API Security Top 10, facilitated by AMATAS’ custom developed assessment criteria.
Mobile app penetration testing
Rigorous iOS and Android security testing aligned with OWASP MASVS that evaluates the entire mobile attack surface, covering key areas such as data storage, session management, API communication, and client-side risks.
Source code review
White-box review combining manual expert analysis with automated SAST tooling to find security defects in your codebase before deployment – reducing fix cost and protecting your development pipeline.
AI/LLM security assessment
Specialized security testing for AI-powered applications – covering prompt injection, model manipulation, training data leakage, insecure output handling, and API vulnerabilities specific to LLM integrations.
Vulnerability assessment
Automated and expert-validated scanning of your applications and infrastructure to identify, classify, and prioritize known vulnerabilities – with false positives removed and remediation steps included.
Threat landscape
What application security testing protects against
Injection attacks
SQL, command, prompt and other injection vulnerabilities that let attackers manipulate inputs to access data, bypass controls, exfiltrate information, or execute unintended actions.
Authentication and authorization
Weak session management, credential stuffing exposure, and authentication bypasses that let attackers impersonate legitimate users.
API security flaws
Exposed endpoints, excessive data exposure, and broken object-level authorization – the leading cause of modern data breaches.
Configuration and deployment flaws
Default credentials, unpatched software, and misconfigurations that create unintended entry points, allowing attackers to compromise your underlying infrastructure.
Identity and session management
Insecure token handling, session fixation, and privilege escalation flaws that let attackers hijack active user sessions and gain unauthorized administrative access.
Improper data validation
Unsafe data validation flaws stemming from untrusted input that allow attackers to execute malicious code or compromise internal resources.
Cryptographic failures
Weak encryption algorithms, hardcoded secrets, and insecure key management that expose sensitive data in transit or at rest to unauthorized interception and decryption.
Insecure design and business logic
Flawed application workflows, parameter tampering, and race conditions that let attackers exploit legitimate features to bypass functional limits or manipulate financial transactions.

FAQ
Application security testing - common questions
SAST (static analysis) scans source code without running the application. DAST (dynamic analysis) tests the running application from the outside. Penetration testing combines both with manual expert analysis – uncovering logic flaws and chained vulnerabilities that automated tools cannot find on their own. AMATAS uses all three in combination for maximum coverage.
Yes – and they’re often where the most critical findings hide. We test how your application interacts with third-party services, covering authentication flows, data exposure, and trust boundary weaknesses. Where a provider sits outside direct testing scope, we assess the integration from your application’s perspective and recommend concrete controls to reduce the risk.
AI applications introduce a new category of vulnerabilities not covered by OWASP Top 10 – including prompt injection, indirect prompt injection via external data sources, model denial-of-service, and training data leakage. Our AI/LLM assessment follows the OWASP LLM Top 10 framework alongside our own threat intelligence from real-world AI attack patterns.
Yes – and we recommend it. Shifting security testing left (earlier in the development lifecycle) is significantly cheaper than remediating after deployment. Our source code review is specifically designed for pre-production environments, and we can integrate with your CI/CD pipeline for continuous feedback.
