Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Readiness Assessment
The encryption protecting your data today won't protect it tomorrow.
Quantum computing will break the cryptographic algorithms most organizations rely on. The threat isn’t theoretical – adversaries are already collecting encrypted data to decrypt later. AMATAS PQC readiness assessment tells you exactly where you’re exposed, and guides you through the migration to quantum-resistant cryptography before the window closes.
- Cryptographic inventory & risk assessment
Most organizations don’t know which cryptographic algorithms they’re using, where those algorithms are deployed, or which systems will break first when quantum computing advances. That’s the starting point for every PQC readiness engagement: a complete cryptographic inventory. From there, AMATAS quantifies your quantum risk exposure, prioritizes the migration effort based on data sensitivity and system criticality, and delivers a phased roadmap your teams can act on – with implementation support available for organizations that need it. The organizations that start this process now will complete it on their own terms. Those that wait will be forced to rush – with significantly higher cost and risk.
Why act now
Reasons PQC readiness can't wait
Harvest-now, decrypt-later
Adversaries are collecting encrypted data today to decrypt with quantum computers in the future. Data with long-term sensitivity is already at risk.
Migration takes years
Cryptographic migration across complex enterprise environments typically takes 3–7 years to complete. Starting now is the only way to finish before quantum capability arrives.
Regulatory deadlines approaching
NIST finalized its first PQC standards in 2024. EU regulators, financial authorities, and government agencies are beginning to set cryptographic migration timelines.
Cryptography is everywhere
TLS, VPNs, digital signatures, code signing, PKI, and authentication protocols all rely on algorithms that quantum computing will break – most organizations don’t know all of theirs.
Our service
Assessment and migration plan
PQC readiness is a journey, not a single engagement. We support you through every phase – from understanding your current exposure to completing your migration to quantum-resistant cryptography.
Phase 1: Assessment
A complete inventory of your cryptographic dependencies and a quantified assessment of your quantum risk exposure – the foundation every PQC migration needs.
- Cryptographic algorithm inventory
- Certificate & key dependency mapping
- Data sensitivity & longevity classification
- Harvest-now-decrypt-later risk scoring
- Regulatory compliance gap analysis
Phase 2: Plan
A prioritized, phased migration plan – aligned to your operational constraints, regulatory deadlines, and the relative risk of each system in your cryptographic estate.
- Risk-based migration prioritization
- Algorithm selection recommendations
- Phased implementation timeline
- Vendor & library assessment
- Budget & resource planning guidance
Who it's for
PQC readiness is urgent for any organization that
Handles long-lived sensitive data
Financial records, health data, personal data, and intellectual property that must remain confidential for years or decades.
Financial institutions
Banks, payment processors, and financial infrastructure under DORA and ECB cryptographic risk management requirements.
Critical infrastructure
Energy, utilities, healthcare, and government organizations where cryptographic failure has physical or societal consequences.
PKI & certificate authorities
Organizations operating or depending on public key infrastructure – where cryptographic agility is a fundamental requirement.
Software & SaaS companies
Developers building products that rely on cryptographic libraries and must ensure their software remains secure through the quantum transition.
Any organization with a 5+ year horizon
If the data you’re encrypting today needs to remain confidential beyond 5 years, the quantum threat is already relevant to your security planning.

FAQ
PQC readiness - common questions
The urgency comes from two directions. First, harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks are already happening: adversaries are collecting encrypted data today with the intent of decrypting it when quantum capability arrives. If your data has long-term sensitivity, it’s already at risk. Second, cryptographic migration takes years – complex enterprise environments typically require 3–7 years to fully transition. Organizations that start now will complete on their own terms. Those that wait will face a costly, rushed migration under regulatory pressure.
A cryptographic inventory is a complete catalog of every cryptographic algorithm, protocol, certificate, and key in use across your environment – including in applications, infrastructure, APIs, and third-party dependencies. Most organizations don’t have one, which means they don’t know where their quantum exposure lies, can’t prioritize their migration, and can’t demonstrate compliance with emerging regulatory requirements. The inventory is the essential first step in any PQC readiness program – without it, you’re migrating blind.
NIST finalized its first post-quantum cryptography standards in 2024: ML-KEM (formerly CRYSTALS-Kyber) for key encapsulation, and ML-DSA (formerly CRYSTALS-Dilithium) and SLH-DSA (formerly SPHINCS+) for digital signatures. These are the primary standards we recommend for most use cases. The right algorithm selection depends on your specific use case, performance requirements, and regulatory jurisdiction – we provide tailored algorithm recommendations as part of the roadmap phase.
